They are powerful weapons of war. They are useful and fun to fly. You have all seen them. Photos by Real Estate Drones are a very popular way to show off properties, especially acreages and ranches where it is impossible to get an overall view in a traditional manner of views a property.

With new regulations, in an attempt to ensure public safety, how really will this technology impact us?

Deliveries.

Amazon is already testing the market for drone deliveries in Los Angeles with packages up to five pounds. Drones have revolutionized the way deliveries are made, allowing for quick and efficient transportation of packages to even the most remote locations. Companies such as Amazon and Google have begun implementing drone delivery systems, which use autonomous aircraft to deliver packages directly to customers’ homes. These systems are not only faster than traditional delivery methods, but they also have the potential to reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions.

Agriculture.

Drones monitor the health and condition of crops. Not only can they detect weeds and growth rates, but can be used to apply pesticides and fertilizers. In the agriculture industry, drones are being used to monitor crops and assess their health. By using cameras and sensors, drones can capture high-resolution images and data of fields, which can then be analyzed to detect early signs of pests or diseases. This allows farmers to address issues before they become major problems, leading to increased crop yields and reduced costs.

Emergencies.

Providing aerial pictures of an accident area to helping analyze a large fire for fire fighters, drones help to keep emergency personnel out of danger. As the use of drones continues to grow, it is important to ensure that they are being used safely and responsibly. Governments around the world are implementing regulations and guidelines to ensure the safe operation of drones, including requirements for operator training and certification, as well as restrictions on where drones can be flown. By following these guidelines, we can continue to harness the potential of drones while minimizing the risk of accidents or incidents.

Insurance.

Insurance claims and inspections. A hail storm damaged your roof. No problem. A drone can be quickly and easily sent to inspect the damage and speed claims along. Insurance companies are utilizing drones to quickly and accurately assess damage from natural disasters or accidents. By using drones to inspect roofs, bridges, and other structures, insurance adjusters can gather important information and make faster claims decisions.

Photos and Videos.

The aforementioned real estate videos and photos are current examples. Advertising commercial properties and terrain like resorts or hunting property is a plus. Drones are also being used to capture photos and videos from angles and heights that would be otherwise impossible to achieve. From wedding photography to real estate marketing, drones are providing a new perspective and adding a level of creativity to these industries.

War-torn countries or countries experiencing famine can receive life-saving medicines and food by drones. In addition to their use in deliveries, agriculture, and photography, drones are also being used in emergency situations. For example, drones can be equipped with thermal cameras to search for people in disaster-stricken areas or to locate lost hikers in remote locations. Drones can also be used to deliver medical supplies or equipment to hard-to-reach areas in times of crisis.

Home Air Quality

Home Air Quality

Did You Know?

Staging your home for showings during the holidays can be a fine balancing act. You want to enjoy the season with the decorations you are accustomed to and traditions that your family enjoys. But you cannot overwhelm a buyer with too many personal and ornamental things or they are unable to see the house or imagine themselves in it.

Begin with some easy DIY steps to improve the air quality in your home.

No Smoking. If there’s a smoker in the family, designate an outdoor smoking area. Keeping smoke out of the house is essential.

Control the moisture. Air conditioning and a clean furnace filter is the best approach. Add a dehumidifier in problem damp areas to ensure against mold and mites.

Reduce cleaning toxins. Pay attention to the products you use in your home, from cleaning supplies to paint and repair products. Using natural cleaning solutions rather than stronger, more toxic ones, will maintain a healthy air quality without adding to the problem you are trying to improve.

Vacuum frequently. Using a vacuum with a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter is an effective way to curb the dust mites, pollen, and animal dander.

Ventilate properly. The most important two area are the bathroom and the cooktop in the kitchen. Both of these areas create perfect environments for unsafe air quality. Venting and extracting cooking fumes and moisture laden air reduces the chances of buildup.

Say welcome with a wreath on the door.
A simple lush wreath on the door is enough of a welcome. A blow-up Santa using a noisy air compressor on the lawn should stay in storage.

One tree is enough.
Find the perfect spot to display a tree and keep the size balanced with the area. Simple small lights and generic ornaments are much better than a themed tree that pay homage to an interest or experience your family has.

Decorate the mantle.
If you have a fireplace, a simple garland with ornaments or hanging stockings will be just right. Put the pictures of pets with Santa Paws up, but put the string of Christmas cards received away during showings. Keep it simple and uncluttered so the potential buyers and see the mantle.

Smell the cookies.
Baking a pan of cookies using a tube of ready-made dough, 30 minutes before a showing, will fill the house with cheer and hide minor smells that may turn buyers off.

Hear the songs.
Playing Christmas carols on LOW VOLUME in the kitchen or living room of your home will complete the simple but effective holiday staging.

Keep it simple for showings during the holidays to find a buyer who simply can’t resist.

The Nose Knows

The Nose Knows

Did You Know?

Showing a house during the holidays is a challenge. You have decluttered, cleaned, staged, and primped up the curb appeal. Don’t waste all that hard work by forgetting to tackle the air quality in your home.

Being greeted with an odor in a house is not the first impression you want to make. It’s important that the house smell CLEAN. Not perfumed or roiling in scented candle smells. Sometimes perfumed air is worse than the odor that is being covered.

Pet odor
You can take your pets out of the house, but you must neutralize their odor in the house. Keep their beds and lounging areas super clean. Launder their beds and keep them groomed and clean.

Smoke
Smoking in a home permeates the carpets, draperies, and upholstery. If you must smoke, I suggest you do it outside while trying to sell your house. Sprinkling baking soda on the carpet, allowing it to absorb the pet and smoke odors, will go a long way.

Vacuum
Enough said.

Food smells
Pay attention to what you cook the day of a showing and the day before a showing. Frying fish not only puts an oily smell into your house, but a fishy one as well. Cooked cabbage and brussels sprouts do not create a feeling of hominess to many people. Save the robust-smelling meals that you and I love for an outdoor kitchen or until after the house sells.

For an emergency air freshener:
Add water to a saucepan or small crockpot along with a fresh lemon or lime that has been sliced or quartered. Add in a spice you may have on hand, like a cinnamon stick or basil. Simmer very slowly, being sure not to let it simmer dry.
