Idaho Heritage Museum

A cool place to take kids this summer, or anytime of the year, is the Idaho Heritage Museum right here in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Loaded with over 20,000 artifacts and 300 mounted animals the museum is one of the largest privately-owned collections in the United States.

Small and large life-sized mounted game animals displayed in their natural habitats, including a Bison and a now extinct Bison latifrons are included in the collection and on display.

Native American arrowheads, spears, knives and bone tools. An atlatl weapon used by ancient hunters to bring down huge animals. Gold and silver coins. Guns including commemorative rifles and old West Colt revolvers. A fun and educational museum will make a good field trip on a rainy or blistering hot day.

Located at 2390 and Highway 90 South in Twin Falls, the museum is open Wednesday through Sunday 11 A.M. to 4 P.M.
